The profession aimed at the prevention, treatment and management of specific orthopedic problems and/or chronic diseases through the use of individualized exercise programs.
Our mission as a practice is to provide quality rehabilitative services as well as to educate each patient about the cause of their injuries or pain and how to manage them efficiently in order to better their quality of life.
Our vision is to see not only our patients thrive, improve their quality of life and to ultimately live pain free, but to also see South Africa saturated with highly skilled and qualified Biokineticists by providing quality training to each of our staff members and by always staying up to date with the latest medical research.
Each patient is required to book an initial consultation on their first visit with us.
Here, we do a full assessment where we obtain a thorough history of the problem area and any previous injury you may have or medication you might be taking. We will then assess your posture, flexibility, strength, functionality, balance and co-ordination in order to determine the cause of the problem and then to create an individualized treatment program to tackle your injury and/or reach your goals.
After the cause of your problem area has been determined, goals have been set and an individualized treatment program has been designed, we will start your treatment programme.
Each session is 45mins and is aimed at treating your problem area one step at a time with the goal to slowly improve your flexibility, strength, balance and posture in a progressive manner to not aggravate the area and to make the most of every session.
The amount of sessions needed will be determined based on the findings in your initial consultation.
When there is much improvement and progression seen throughout the treatment stage, one of our Biokineticists will re-assess you. Here we will conduct the same tests that were performed in your initial consultation with the aim to examine the amount of improvement obtained during the treatment stage. These results will also allow us to determine whether more Biokinetics sessions are needed, or whether we are happy with the progress you have made and no longer need our help.
This is a service that we offer to help those who need a long term exercise program with special supervision from a Biokineticist.
These may include persons who:
- are overweight or obese
- are excessively underweight
- have low muscle mass
- are pregnant
- have an underlying condition (heart or cholesterol problems)
- are unsure of how to start exercising without injuring themselves
We offer Biokinetic treatment, group classes, training sessions and Vitality Fitness Assessments Wellness Days to any corporate company or organization that sees the need for improving the health and wellness of their employees. This in turn would help improve work efficiency, minimize chronic pain due to poor desk posture and ultimately enhance their health and quality of life resulting in fewer sick days needed to be taken.
Our goal is to spread awareness about the importance of physical activity within the corporate setting.
Muscle and tendon strains, ligament sprains, overactive and underactive muscles. Bone, joint and cartilage problems. Tendonitis and other impingements as well as spinal cord and disk problems.

Exercise can help prevent any operation or surgical procedure that may be on the cards. Your doctor may refer you to see a Biokineticist post operation in order to regain your preoperative muscle function.
Exercise in a safe and supervised environment where the focus will be on improving your muscle function and core strength during and after pregnancy to help prevent any aches or pains that may arise.
This could be due to poor desk posture, bad running or walking mechanics, poor exercise form, unusual sleeping posture as well as weak and unbalanced muscles to name a few. A biokinetics assessment will tell you exactly what the cause of your pain could be.
